DOBERMANN IV S600

DOBERMANN IV is the evolution of the first and most classic Extrema Ratio K1 DOBERMANN.

Since 1997 the DOBERMANN model has notably evolved its aesthetic and design according to everchanging tastes and trends, while retaining a line consistent with its original designs. DOBERMANN IV has usage flexibility and structural resistance as its main characteristics.

DOBERMANN IV S600, like the model from which it derives, is a multirole knife that can be used for hunting, survival, camping and military use. The blade has a drop point tip while the central part has a recurved blade profile. The grind, higher than the knives of the same segment, is flat. This particular blade geometry allows DOBERMANN IV to make precise and clean cuts on materials such as rope, wood and foliage, as well as to be employed for typical bushcraft and survival operations, such as batoning and chopping.

Unlike the other DOBERMANN IVs, this model is made of Böhler S600 steel. This material is used for manufacturing metalwork and stamp-creation tools. The high content of molybdenum, tungsten and a good presence of vanadium in its chemical composition provide excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of cobalt stimulates the growth of small uniformly distributed carbides, which enhance mechanical qualities such as bending capacity. The blade of DOBERMANN IV S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC; this makes it very resistant to wear and gives the edge a lasting sharpening. Böhler S600 has 4.5% of chrome, which makes it oxidizable. For this reason, Extrema Ratio has chosen the new EXP DARK Teflon-based finish.

DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a green forprene handle. It has a pommel that functions as a glass breaker protruding from the handle; this is equipped with a lanyard hole.

DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a cordura thigh sheath, also in green colour; it comes with a M.O.L.L.E. fixing system and can be adapted to both left-handed and right-handed people.
