Native Chief, Cobalt Blue

An "extended" version of the timeless Spyderco Native, the Native Chief stretches the overall length of the original design by about one-third while maintaining its slim, pocket-friendly profile. It retains the same precision-machines lockback mechanism and includes four sets of threaded inserts to allow fully configurable mounting of the knife's four-position pocket clip. The blade of the Native Chief is full-flat ground and features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole to complement the knife's symmetrical, completely ambidextrous design.

Developed in close cooperation with Crucible Industries, CPM-SPY27 is a cobalt-enriched stainless steel that enhances the time-tested chemistry of Japanese VG-10 with the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. This state-of-the-art method wrings maximum performance out of the steel by reducing alloy segregation and ensuring a fine homogenous microstructure. Proprietary to Spyderco, this high-performance blade material is renowned for its ability to get “sticky sharp,” while balancing edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. This Chief proudly showcases this elite steel in its full-flat ground blade and further highlights it with a signature cobalt blue G10 handle.
