Shell Guard Cutlass

Favored among pirates of old, cutlasses and pistols were the weapons of choice when it came to battles on the high seas. The shorter blade of the cutlass made close quarters combat quicker and easier. Varying in styles and complexity, the cutlass was as much of a symbol of pirate power and terror as the colors they flew.

Kingston Arms brings you another soon to be legendary sword that will set a new standard in the sword market, the Shell Guard Cutlass. Sitting perfectly in the right hand, the 23 ¾” blade is perfect for cuts and thrusts. A 15 ½” fuller runs down both sides of the blade. The stainless-steel shell guard covers the hand with a simple yet elegant design that is stylish without being flamboyant. On the opposite side the smaller thumb guard reflects the larger design and curves into the 4 ¼” leather wrapped grip with wire wrapped ends. The stainless-steel pommel is buttoned, which is perfect for skull-cracking! Weighing in just a little over two pounds, you won’t be sailing with any unnecessary weight.

The scabbard is blade leather wrapped with stainless steel chape and locket. The locket features a button for a sword belt. Perfectly balanced and eloquently designed for swashbuckling and pirating prowess. Legend tells us that Blackbeard wore a cutlass with a shell guard, and we’d like to think this one would have graced his grip as well as yours.
