Discover the spirit of authentic Japanese swordmaking with the Orasaku Zukuri Honsanmai Wakisashi by Thaitsuki Nihonto — a masterfully crafted short sword that blends traditional techniques, premium materials, and refined aesthetics.

This Wakisashi is hand forged and folded from high carbon steel, constructed using the traditional Honsanmai lamination, combining a hard edge steel with softer core and jacket steels. This time-honored method results in exceptional durability, resilience, and cutting performance. The blade is clay tempered and water quenched, achieving an impressive hardness range of HRC 65 at the edge to approximately 35 at the spine, highlighted by a beautifully defined hamon.

Meticulously hand polished, the blade reveals a striking hada (steel grain), showcasing the craftsmanship invested in every detail. The blade is hand sharpened and fully functional, while the Orasaku Zukuri blade geometry delivers a powerful profile and excellent balance.

The fittings reflect uncompromising quality and authenticity. A blackened, hand-crafted copper tsuba, silver seppa and habaki, and elegant silver centipede menuki emphasize its traditional character. Silver fuchi and kashira complete the refined tsuka assembly.

The saya is equally impressive: finished in a dark red, hand-rubbed lacquer with a medium gloss, accented with silver fittings. A maroon and white-wine sageo, along with silver kurikata, koiguchi, and sayajiri, completes the harmonious and luxurious presentation.

Whether for a discerning collector, practitioner of Japanese martial arts, or as a prestigious display piece, this Wakisashi stands as a true testament to classical Nihonto craftsmanship.
