Hand-forged from 1095 carbon steel, differentiated hardened by clay coating, thus with real hamon line.
The Rockwell hardness of the cutting edge is approx. 60° HRC and on back of the blade approx. 40° HRC. With brass habaki and unvarnished wooden sheath.
Kurigata, Koiguchi and Kojiri are made of buffalo horn.
