Teutonic Knights surcoat

In 1198 after the seige of Toron, a group of landless German knights who decided to remain in the Holy Land, while the majority of their brBags & Purses in arms returned to Germany, decided to form their own military order patterned after that of the Knights Templar. Thus was born the Teutonic Knights. Stationed in Acre and attired in blazing white with a black cross, they were granted papal recognition later that same year. This surcoat is based on that which would have been worn by these German crusaders of old. Crafted from wool with an inner lining of 100% linen.
